Wehought there will be long queue but we were wrong, plenty of seats for us to choose..

IMG_2635

There is no menu provided, you just look up and make the order from the menu hanging on top..there are only few dishes to choose, Nyonya laksa, Mee Soon Siam, Cendol, Chap Chai, fried rice, nasi lemak and Pongteh chiken..

IMG_2637

IMG_2643

They add sago in the cendol, taste just like normal cendol..

IMG_2639

We love their Nyonya laksa, not overing seasonings and not too creamy, yummy!

IMG_2640

Oh, their Mee Hoon Siam also very good, we packed back to hotel since we were too full after taken  the laksa.. I also cook this when came back home, will post recipe in next post..

They are going to move to new place after 16th June 2012..we actually spotted their new shop which located at new business shop lot. But I still prefer their old wooden shop which located at the famous Red House area..

Hassan’s Mee Goreng @ Jalan Tengkera, Melaka

This is a stall that i wanted to try long ago. I saw in an old Flavours food magazine recommended their famous Mee Goreng.. another very crowded eating place..

IMG_2701

You can see a bottle of  cuka(vinegar) and kicap manis (soy sauce) on each table,,which you can mix into your noodles’ according to your own liking..

IMG_2694

half cooked deep fried egg with cucumber and their homemade sambal..

IMG_2696

Actually their mee goreng is very simple, stir fry yellow noodles, bean sprouts and sambal..
RM 1.50 per plate..The taste was quite good, it taste even better if you added the cuka and kicap!

IMG_2699

I love their Nasi Lemak more than mee goreng, sweet sambal and nasi kukus, perfect!
If this nasi lemak wrap with banana leaf, lagi bagus!

Cuti-cuti Malaysia, Melaka 2012 (part 1)

Last week we went for a short trip to Melaka. We did not visit any tourist places since we had visited last time, instead my kids were enjoy in the pool and our main purpose was to hunt for good foods..

Bert's Garden, Medan ikan bakar
My husband had mentioned to me many times about his's favourite and best nasi lemak served in Bert's Garden. This time he managed to bring us there..He had hard time to locate this place, made a few calls to his Malay friend, finally we reached there and sun was going to set..this restaurant just located by the seaside..

IMG_2535

their grilled fish was very fresh and good !! but very pricey (RM60)..

IMG_2564

First time tried this Cucur Geragau (Geragau is shrimp that use to make cencaluk). The taste was good too..I bought a pack of this geragau, going to cook this at home soon..

IMG_2563

we ordered an extra plate of stir-fried kangkung to enjoy with Nasi lemak..

IMG_2556

Here comes the nasi lemak..My husband said this is the best nasi lemak but for me this was just taste ok, i feel their sambal added too much of gula melaka..I still prefer Hassan's nasi lemak (will post it later)..
(RM4 per plate)

Stir-fried Squids with Pineapple

Just came back from a short trip from Melaka. Once returned home, start to busy purchasing, packing and making delivery for My Kedai Runcit orders (Hokkaido cupcake case, Puteri ayu mould and skewer are selling hot!!)...just realized that quite a lot of works just to manage this small kedai runcit, hehehe...but it is a good experience and exposure to business world..
I cooked this stir-fried squid with pineapples few weeks ago. I have almost forgotten this dish which my mom use to cook for us when we were kids..if you like sweet and sour dish, you will love this..The important tip is do not overcooked the squids otherwise it will turn chewy and hard..

Launch of My Kedai Runcit (Shop)

I have been receiving many readers asking me where to buy this and that. I try to provide them with the shop address but some couldn't go there because the distance or not familiar with the area. Sometime i help to buy for them. ..So i came out with this idea of My Kedai Runcit (shop) I will help to source of the baking items, traditional moulds or whatever items or ingredients that you have seen in my blog. I will pack them and ship to you and you pay for the shipping cost..I know i will not earn much out of this (that's why i called my shop as kedai runcit, earning few cents and ringgit only ^_^), but i just like to help to who has the same passion like me (love to cook and bake!!)..
Please refer to top right page for My Kedai Runcit..Oversea buyers are welcome too, but you need to consider of the shipping cost (afraid the shipping cost is more than items cost) before you decide to place an order..

Happy Shopping !!
